Get Out There and Vote

Today, the American people will head to the polls in what is seen as the most crucial midterm elections in recent history.

Up for grabs are 35 of the 100 seats in the US Senate and all the 435 seats in the US House of Representatives.  In addition, thousands of other positions in state and local levels across the country are being contested in these midterm elections.

The stakes are high.  Should the Democratic Party take back the House of Representatives, the President faces multiple congressional committee investigations, which include his business dealings and the sexual assault allegations against him.  If the Republican Party continues to control the Senate, the President may yet again install another conservative judge on the Supreme Court in the event of another vacancy.

These midterm elections have been highly contentious, as virulent rhetoric were hurled from both sides of the political spectrum.  Hot button issues such as Supreme Court appointment, immigration, and healthcare took center stage in the political discourse.

Whether you are hoping for a blue or red wave, the all-important action you can take today is to let your voice be heard by casting your vote.

We are incredibly fortunate to be able to exercise our right to vote in this greatest democracy in the history of mankind.  Thousands of Americans who came before us sacrificed their lives so that we may possess this freedom.

When these elections are over, it’s time to focus once again on the things that unite us, rather than the ones that divide us.
